1 down, 5 to go!
Opening night was a surprising success! Although we were not able to have a dress rehearsal in the space, and even though it is quite an “unconventional” stage, we pulled it off! And we actually had a nice sized audience. I’m hoping as the week goes on we get more people in the doors through word of mouth. The audience was extremely appreciative, and it looked like they really enjoyed the performance. Now its just 5 more performances, a master class tomorrow morning, & then I head back to the States.
My master class is being held by Bruce Fowler. He teaches at SFU in Texas, and he’s performed at the Met, and various opera houses around the world. I’m a little nervous, but very excited to have a master class with him! Gotta get up early to prepare, but it will be worth it because when I’m done I get to see David & my dad!!! Their plane lands around 10 or 11 am I think, which is perfect because my master class ends at noon, so I can meet them at their hotel afterwards.
I am excited & a bit sad to go home. This has been a fantastic experience, but I am ready to get back to a sense of “normalcy” & also very excited to see my Chuckles. I miss him more than I can express in words.
Off to bed so I can get some rest before tomorrow!
Tschüß!
